Regional Film Day

Trøndelag på lerretet is under Minimalen an all night event. Three seminars are specifically aimed at regional filmmakers. After that, this year's harvest of regional shorts are presented. The day is rounded off with a social gathering at Avant Garden.

The concept Trøndelag på lerretet (Trøndelag on the canvas) is presented several times a year by the Cinematheque Trondheim and Midtnorsk Filmsenter as the channel for regional films from the producer to the public. In collaboration with the regional industry, the recently produced shorts and documentaries are screened.

Seminar: Meet the Film Consultant
Wednesday 17:00

The new short film consultant at the Norwegian Film Institute, Åse Meyer, will open the first Minimalen seminar to present her credo for the Norwegian short film. Meyer will introduce herself and how she works, inform on the consultant's role and what expectations she has for applicants. What should an application include to get support for a short film through the NFI? She will also share with us her greatest sources of inspiration within the art of short film.

Åse Meyer (45) is cand.polit. in Media Studies from the University of Oslo and has extensive experience in the film industry. She has worked with project development in her own company, and has been a program manager in the festival Films from the South. Meyer has also worked for the Norsk Filmutvikling and the Ministry of Culture, has been a freelance journalist and held lectures in film history. For the last two years she has been managing director and film consultant for Sørnorsk filmsenter. Åse Meyer has previously been an advisor for short and documentary film at the Norwegian Film Institute. (source: nfi.no)

Røseth from the actor training academy in Nord-Trøndelag to play the lead roles. The seminar will examine the processes behind the short film. The producers will explain the approach to shooting the film, and together with director Arnulf Haga explain how they worked their way from idea to finished film.
