Minimalen and Midtnorsk filmsenter invite you to a festive screening in the Liv Ullmann theatre.

In the first half, the film center will present two brand new short productions from regional filmmakers. The film production community in the region of Trøndelag has reached a respectable level of maturity, with quite some breadth and diversity in the cinematic expression.

In the second half, Minimalen will provide a taste of the rich festival programme awaiting during the week.

After the screening, we move over to the Opening Party.

IRIS
Iris, ei jente med livlig fantasi, møter en liten gutt på avveie. Sammen begir de seg ut på en reise med altfor mye piller, penger og en enhjørning.

BEHIND THE MASK
Abduweli flykter fra en kinesisk uigurisk interneringsleir til Norge. Nå, på vei til Tyskland for å konfrontere en tidligere torturist, tvinger datterens panikkanfall frem et valg: å avsløre folkemord på uigurer for verden, eller skjerme familien fra smertefulle minner. Premiere på DOC NYC i november 2023.

Survivor Abduweli flees a Chinese Uyghur internment camp to Norway. Now, heading to Germany to confront a past torturer, his daughter’s panic attack forces a choice: exposing Uyghur genocide for the world, or shielding his family from painful memories. Premiered at DOC NYC in November 2023.
