Patrik Eklund
Patrik Eklund (b. 1978) is one of the most promising of the contemporary Swedish filmmakers. He lives, writes and directs his films in Umeå, and has in a very short time managed to become a household name in the film festival world, like Cannes and Sundance, with his shorts. This retrospective covers the last three films, all with a masterly balance in cunning dramas shifting between the deadly serious and humour out of this world.
He was supposed to be present in Trondheim to present the films, but got an Academy Award nomination and is in Los Angeles instead. To make up for that, he has made a video introduction especially for this screening.
