Opening Screening & Reception
Tuesday 18:00 [Nova 1]

Midtnorsk filmsenter (The Regional Film Centre) and Minimalen invites you to a festive screening in the Liv Ullmann theatre (Nova 1).

In the first half, the film center will present two smoking hot films and share a thrilling work in progress. Behind all three projects are solid and innovative directors, supported by some of the region's most exciting production companies in the field of fiction.

In the second half, The 30th Anniversary Edition of Minimalen will let you have tastes of the rich festival programme awaiting during the week. We get to hear the curators talk of some of the special programs, and welcome a couple of the profiles and jury members that have arrived at this point.

The film screening starts out in Nova 1, and will slide over to the opening reception at Bror (address Olav Tryggvasons gate 29, first floor, contact info and map: brorbar.no ).

FOTOSHOOT (PHOTOSHOOT)

A photoshoot begins as a professional meeting between two modern and successful women, but gradually develops into a power struggle with roots in their past.

Maida Hals has made a number of award-winning music videos. The short doc Nasjonaldagen (2014) was featured at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, while Kisses in Zocolo (2013) won a prize under DocsDF in Mexico City. With Photoshoot, she has participated in the North Fiction workshop, which explores the filmmaker's distinct artistic expression, and is a collaboration between Midtnorsk Filmsenter, Nordnorsk Filmsenter and Verdalslab (Nord University).
