The selection committees have made this selection 38 films (18 from Norway and 20 from Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Sweden). These films are screened in the NOR section, spanning 6 programmes of Nordic and Norwegian films in competition. The directors are presented at the beginning of each screening. Later, they get the opportunity to talk about their film in Meet the Filmmakers. All films compete for four Nordic awards, the Norwegian films also compete for two national awards. The Award Ceremony is due Sunday.
AWARDS
Five films are awarded by the NOR Award Jury: Best Nordic Film incl. The Minimalen Trophy, and EUR 1 000 given by Minimalen Best Nordic Fiction Best Nordic Documentary Best Nordic Animation or Art Film Best Norwegian Film incl. The Minimalen Trophy, and NOK 5 000 given by NTNU Department of Art and Media Studies. This film (as well as one Honorable Mention) is automatically nominated in the Short Films Category of the annual, national Amanda Award (provided that the film comply with the Amanda committee nomination rules).
In addition, Trondheim kino will select one film, approx. 5 min.: Best Norwegian Prerunner to be screened before a feature film at Trondheim
kino for one month. Regional productions will be preferred.
THE JURY FOR NORDIC & NORWEGIAN COMPETITION:
MIKHAIL ZHELEZNIKOV (b. 1972, Soviet Union), documentary and experimental filmmaker. Has made approx. 20 films for Arte, YLE a.o., many of which are screened at prestigious film festivals worldwide. Curator for the experimental shorts competition at the Message to Man Film Festival since 2011, and co-organizer of the online Kinodot Minimalist Short Film Festival. Since 2015, he is teaching at St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture.
VIBEKE HEIDE (b. 1978, Norway), graduated as a Film Director from the Norwegian Film School 2008. Runs her own production company, Sentimeter film, and has written, directed and produced numerous music videos and several award-winning shorts. And the Going is Good won the 2012 main award in Grimstad, and with Bunker, she won the national Amanda Award in 2015.
DANIEL VADOCKÝ (b. 1980, Czechoslovakia), holds degrees in Philosophy and Film Studies from the universities of Trnava and Bratislava in Slovakia. Has lectured on Philosophy and Aesthetics for film students and published articles on world cinema, film history and theory. Programming for the short film competition and the non-competitive feature film section Focus at Art Film Fest in Slovakia. Was Head of Sales at The National Film Archive in Prague for three years, and currently Sales Agent for Negativ Film Productions.

When the filmmaker’s father died, he left his most personal diaries. These diaries described her dad as a totally different person from whom he appeared to be in real life. In this film the filmmaker tries to get to know her dad’s inner hidden personality.

The roving Gritt fights the exhausting battle of establishing her ideas into practice as an autodidact movement artist arriving the capital of the self acclaimed winners of the world lottery. We follow her during her first week in Oslo, and through her philosophical but rather dissociative voice, we find a person with a huge gap between her inner and outer world.

DAUGHTER OF OF GUANG NAN
Ti år gamle Yanxuan bor alene i den lille landsbyen Guang Nan. Hun er et barn av Kamfolket, en etnisk minoritet sør i Kina, som på grunn av urbanisering opplever vanskeligheter i hverdagen. Yanxuan elsker å synge og danse som stjernene på TV, men hennes største ønske er å feire bursdagen sin med familien.
Ten year old Yanxuan, lives all by herself in the small village Guang Nan. She is a child of the Kam people, an ethnic minority group in Southern China, facing difficulties due to urbanisation. Yanxuan loves singing and dancing like the stars on television. Her greatest wish, though, is to celebrate her birthday with the whole family.
